KTDC Lake Palace sits on a private island in Periyar Lake, inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Access is solely by boat from the Aranya Nivas hotel on the mainland. Guests watch wild elephants, bison, deer, and birds from the garden or room balcony, and binoculars are provided for closer views.
